  1. Herrmann's unused score for Torn Curtain was commercially recorded after his death, initially by Elmer Bernstein for his Film Music Collection subscription record label (reissued by Warner Bros. Records), then in a fuller realisation of the original score by Joel McNeely and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and later, in a concert suite.

  5. It would be great if we could hear the reel to reel tapes containing Bernard Herrmann's Psycho() music score. This CD is the next best thing. It's Joel McNeely and the Royal Scottish Orchestra playing Herrmann's work. Herrmann composed a music score just for the strings section. It fits the stark horror and the black and white look of Psycho/5(55).
